X's new messaging app, XChat, adopts the full iOS 26 design language, including the system keyboard, for its iPhone release. The company says the app supports direct messaging, group chats, file sharing, and voice or video calls.
X claims all conversations are protected with end-to-end encryption and a device-specific PIN. The app includes features like disappearing messages, screenshot alerts, and tools for users to edit or delete sent texts for all participants. XChat promises an environment free of ads and tracking mechanisms.
