Xreal’s Neo: A Pretty Battery Dock That Won’t Power Everything

Xreal’s $99 Neo battery dock offers MagSafe and 1080p/120Hz support for AR glasses but lacks HDMI and trails Viture’s 27W alternative.

Gaming on AR glasses just got a little more portable—but at what cost?

Xreal’s Neo is a $99 10,000mAh battery dock with DisplayPort Alt video-out for AR glasses. It supports devices like the Nintendo Switch 2 (up to 1080p/120Hz) and USB-C hardware such as the Steam Deck or Asus ROG Ally.

The dock features a 20W output (45W at 65W+ input) and includes a MagSafe-compatible ring and kickstand for stability.

While the Neo’s price undercut Viture’s $129 battery dock by $30, it lacks an HDMI port and offers lower battery capacity.

The Viture dock, by contrast, delivers 27W of power but costs significantly more. The Neo’s 1080p/120Hz compatibility with the Switch 2 also falls short of the 1200p limit on AR glasses, a technical distinction for high-resolution users.

The design critique remains neutral, focusing on aesthetics without addressing performance claims. The Neo is available now, with samples on display at CES 2026.
