Tim Cain, co-creator of Fallout, says he's exasperated with the question of returning to old IPs or creating new ones. 'Other people have made way more money off of IPs I've created than I've ever made,' he said in a recent YouTube video.

The Fallout veteran now works on The Outer Worlds 2 but isn't in a lead role, calling his current work 'fun little doodles.'

I'm over making people really wealthy with my own creations, Cain said. He compared his situation to a painter metaphor: "The guy who's making the frames is making more money than me."

While working as a rank-and-file programmer at Obsidian, Cain emphasized that his creative priorities now outweigh financial frustrations.
