The Witcher 3 just got multiplayer—but don’t expect to team up for boss fights or horse races. Modder 'rejuvenate' released 'Witcher Online', a mod that adds multiplayer functionality to CD Projekt Red’s 2015 RPG. The mod focuses on creating a shared dark fantasy experience rather than action-packed co-op.

According to the mod’s description: 'Witcher Online is more about taking the dark fantasy world of the Continent and making it a comfy place to play with your friends...'

Features include custom player characters, a 'Chill Out' tavern mode for socializing, and emote-based roleplay interactions. However, enemies, horses, and sailboats do not sync between players, and there are no co-op boss fights or multiplayer Gwent support.

The mod requires installing three dependencies via Nexus Mods: 'Custom Player Characters', 'Chill Out', and 'Community Patch – Shared Imports'. A full installation guide is available on the mod’s page for PC users.
