Speedrunners raised $2.44 million (£1.8m) for the Prevent Cancer Foundation at Games Done Quick’s latest event, which concluded with a blistering Pokémon Emerald speedrun in Pittsburgh.

The marathon session featured absurd challenges like playing Resident Evil 2 Remake on a Guitar Hero controller and a 70-person relay for Mario 64, while cosplayers in French-styled outfits hyped the crowd during Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Since 2010, Games Done Quick has funneled $59.8 million to global charities.

The next event, set for February 5, 2025, will shift focus to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières.
