Skylight’s AI Calendar 2: The Family Organizer That Reads Your Kids’ Flyers (And Your Fridge)

A family's digital calendar is now powered by AI that reads your kids' school flyers and your fridge — but does it simplify life or just add tech clutter?

Skylight’s Calendar 2, unveiled at CES 2026, promises to streamline family organization by aggregating Google, iCal, Microsoft, and TeamSnap calendars into a single 15-inch digital display.

The device’s AI capabilities extend beyond scheduling: it can extract event details from photos of flyers, convert fridge snapshots into grocery lists for Instacart, and suggest recipes based on available ingredients. For parents juggling toddler soccer practices, spouse’s Zoom calls, and weekly grocery runs, the system offers a frictionless workflow—assuming the AI interprets the inputs correctly.

The company claims 1.3 million families use its product, with a hardware-free app option available alongside paid device tiers. A parent might snap a TeamSnap flyer to update the calendar, while a spouse could photograph a half-empty milk jug to trigger a grocery list update.

But the AI’s reliance on structured data means handwritten notes or blurry photos might lead to errors. As Skylight states, 'The biggest selling point isn’t the digital screen itself, but the underlying software and AI capabilities.'
