Poppy Playtime 5 Gets Blood-Soaked Teaser + 2026 Release Date for 'Broken Things'

The Playtime Co. labs get a hell of a lot darker in February 2026. Poppy Playtime Chapter 5, titled Broken Things, launches 18th February 2026 with consoles following "in the months ahead."

The chapter introduces a new area teeming with "stomach-churning terror," puzzles, tools, and environmental obstacles. Players must confront The Prototype, a puppetmaster lurking in the lab's vacant halls, where it stalks "the tattered, lifeless remains of toys that once were."

Chapter 4 arrived on PC in January 2024, with consoles receiving it in summer 2024. A film adaptation, announced in May 2024 with Legendary/Ange Films, marks the franchise's expansion into transmedia storytelling. Mob co-founders Zach and Seth Belanger said:

"This movie deal is a great logical next step in the growth of our transmedia entertainment company."
