Oracle’s AI Agents: Automating Supply Chains or Just Another Overhyped Tool?
Supply chains are under siege from global disruptions—Oracle’s latest AI agents promise to automate the chaos, but can they keep up with the pace of modern logistics?
Oracle announced 12 new AI agents embedded in Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM) to automate workflows like planning, procurement, and logistics.
These agents include the Planning Cycle Agent (task coordination), Component Replacement Agent (minimizing disruptions), and Inventory Aging Advisor Agent (reducing carrying costs).
Built using Oracle AI Agent Studio, the agents run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure with integrated security and are available at no additional cost within Oracle Fusion Applications.
Chris Leone, Oracle Executive Vice President, stated:
"With the new AI agents embedded in Oracle Fusion Applications, supply chain leaders can meet customer demands and improve operational resilience by automating critical tasks..."
Features include conversational interfaces, error detection, supplier collaboration tools, and natural language product configuration. Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM now offers a "unified AI-powered platform" for supply chain resilience, with AI Agent Studio allowing customers to build custom agents.
