Nintendo Switch 2’s GameShare: Play Co-Op Without the Pricey Split

Nintendo’s GameShare lets you play co-op without everyone buying the game—no more empty wallets, just full fun. The Switch 2 acts as the host device for sessions, allowing friends to join locally or online. Nintendo states:

"GameShare is a way to start playing quickly!"

Local play requires the host to use a Switch 2, while guests can use either a Switch 2 or original Switch. Online sessions demand a GameChat connection and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership (valid until March 2026). Nintendo clarifies:

"Users who receive software via GameShare can only play the software during the session in which it was shared."

Compatible games are listed in the Nintendo eShop with a GameShare filter. Titles marked as compatible include select co-op titles, though Nintendo has not published an exhaustive list.

The feature emphasizes streaming gameplay during sessions rather than downloading games to guest devices.
