Nintendo Switch 2 Controller Showdown: Pro Model vs. Affordable Third-Party Alternatives
Spending $90 on a single controller when you could buy two games is a tough pill to swallow—unless you're getting something truly exceptional.
Nintendo’s Switch 2 Pro Controller costs $89.99 and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, OS-level rear button customization, and rumble.
I’ve tested the latest Switch 2 controllers, and this one is the best.
Third-party alternatives like the EasySMX S10 ($59.99) offer TMR joysticks, amiibo support, and remote console wake-up for ~$30 less. The GuliKit TT Pro ($59.99) features adjustable TMR thumbsticks, a floating D-pad, and four mappable rear buttons.
The Mobapad Chitu 2 ($71) mimics the Switch 2 Pro’s design with TMR sticks but has quieter clicks and louder shoulder buttons. The GuliKit ES Pro ($29.99) is an Xbox-style controller with TMR sticks but underwhelming HD rumble.
All third-party controllers support Switch 2, original Switch, PC, and mobile; none use potentiometer-based joysticks prone to drift.
