Nintendo Nukes Naughty Animal Crossing Island Days

Nintendo removes adult-themed Animal Crossing island

Nintendo just scrubbed a saucy slice of Animal Crossing: New Horizons' alternate reality. The adult-themed "Dream Island" created by @churip_ccc was deleted after five years of existence, with the creator acknowledging Nintendo's tolerance as "turning a blind eye."

The island featured modified statues, a red-light district, and a "love hotel"—elements that clashed with Nintendo's stated community guidelines. Despite this, the content remained unaddressed for over five years until its removal ahead of the 3.0 update, which introduces a Resort Hotel.

Creator @churip_ccc expressed no bitterness, stating: "I want to apologize to and thank Nintendo for turning a blind eye for more than five years."

The island attracted streamers and Japanese players, creating a niche community within the game.

Nintendo's actions highlight a discrepancy between their public policies and private enforcement, though the studio has not commented on the deletion. The timing of the removal—just before the 3.0 update—has sparked speculation about the resort's thematic alignment with Nintendo's standards.
