MTG's Puppet Musical Meets Shadowmoor's Dark Twist in Lorwyn Eclipsed

Magic: The Gathering just became a Jim Henson puppet musical—and yes, the frogs are squeezing.

Lorwyn Eclipsed returns to the dual-plane theme of its predecessor, blending the whimsical Lorwyn with the shadowy, decaying Shadowmoor.

The expansion introduces new mechanics like 'Vivid,' which ties effects to color-based synergies, and 'Blight,' which uses -1/-1 counters to corrupt creatures. The Changeling attribute also makes a comeback, offering shapeshifter versatility for deckbuilding.

A short film titled One Light, One Dark, created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, brings the set's lore to life through a Muppet-style musical.

Developers described the collaboration as 'delightful is what it is,' while the team hinted, 'Maybe we'll get a Secret Lair Drop with David Bowie as the Goblin King.'

Digital versions of the set will launch on Magic: The Gathering Arena on January 20, with physical cards available the following day, January 23.
