MSI QD-OLED Monitor with RGB stripe subpixel layout

MSI's new QD-OLED panel claims to fix OLED's worst sin—front fringing—while keeping HDR in check. Will this 1440p curve finally please productivity gamers?

The MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 uses Samsung's 5th Gen QD-OLED panel. Jeremy Laird said: "The HDR experience is stupendous, the ambient light absorption issue is mostly entirely solved and the subpixel structure has been sorted."

Front fringing is resolved via RGB stripe subpixel layout. The monitor offers 3440 × 1440 resolution at 110 ppi and 300 cd/m² fullscreen brightness (up from previous 250-275).

Priced at ~$1,100 with expected price drops, no mention of frame rate drops, burn-in warnings, or GPU compatibility issues.
