Monument Valley’s Dev Just Declared War on Mobile-First Games

Monument Valley 3 logo removed from Netflix platform

Netflix just yanked Monument Valley 3 from their service six months after launch—and a developer’s got zero interest in being Netflix’s next victim.

Ustwo CEO Maria Sayans confirmed the studio is now 'PC first' after Netflix pulled Monument Valley 3 from its platform in mid-2025.

'What has changed more recently is shifting our focus to PC first... you make compromises... when mobile is your lead platform,' Sayans said. 'They told us they wanted to take it off the service... I assume it is related to the evolution of their content strategy.'

The studio has a history of multiplatform titles like Alba: A Wildlife Adventure and Desta: The Memories Between.

Starting on PC allows Ustwo to 'build with more creative freedom' and align with its long-term vision for games as experiences, not just downloads.
