Monster Train 2 DLC Adds Soul-Sucking Souls and Hammer-Swinging Railforged in Early 2025

Monster Train 2's Railforged clan and Soul Savior mode

Shiny Shoe is turning Monster Train 2's DLC into a trainwreck of soul-sucking souls and anvil-wielding tinkerers—here's why you should care.

Destiny of the Railforged, the first paid DLC for Monster Train 2, introduces a non-linear Soul Savior mode set in the Soulstream. Players reclaim souls from the Lifemother while managing a permanent soul progression system.

The Railforged clan adds Forge, an in-combat resource for unit augmentation, and Burst mechanics that decay with repeated use. Wurmkin from Monster Train 1 returns for free in MT2 as part of a design overhaul.

Mark Cooke of Shiny Shoe said:

"Soul Savior required rearchitecting aspects of the game to support balancing in a new way... it offers a different kind of experience that's a lot of fun."

The Railforged's Forge system differs from existing clans by emphasizing real-time resource management. The free Wurmkin return is described as a "community thank-you" for player support.
