King of All Cosmos Cosplay: A Masterpiece Born from Love and Determination
When no one else would, one cosplayer stepped up to bring the whimsical King of All Cosmos to life.
Cybertsu, self-described as a 'cosplay newbie,' took on the challenge of creating a King of All Cosmos cosplay for Once Upon a Katamari.
I love Katamari. I adored the game as a kid, and I had never seen a King of All Cosmos cosplay before, so I just thought, "Fine, I’ll do it myself," they said.
The process was anything but simple. 'The worst part was definitely the headpiece. Figuring out what materials to use and how to put everything together was an experience,' Cybertsu admitted.
The headpiece alone took three days to complete, involving glue, drying time, and a painstaking application of rhinestones. 'It took me three days until everything was glued down, dried and covered in stones. It was a nightmare, but totally worth it,' they said.
The cosplay featured a custom Katamari ball adorned with rhinestones, rubber ducks, coins, and food boxes.
TikTok videos showcasing the creation process and final result received 139K and 104K views respectively, sparking excitement in the Katamari community.
The October release of Once Upon a Katamari has reignited interest in the franchise, with fans celebrating the game's return through creative tributes like Cybertsu's cosplay.
