When your phone's camera can rival a Hollywood set, the line between professional filmmaking and casual content creation gets dangerously blurry.
HONOR and ARRI announced a strategic technical collaboration to integrate ARRI Image Science into mobile imaging.
The partnership aims to translate cinematic imaging principles—color science, highlight/shadow rendering, and depth perception into mobile architectures. This marks the first time core elements of ARRI Image Science have been integrated into a consumer device.
"HONOR is pioneering a new era of mobile imaging, where technology exists to inspire creativity and storytelling," says James Li, HONOR CEO.
"For the first time ever, core elements of ARRI Image Science are being integrated directly into a consumer device," adds David Bermbach, ARRI Managing Director.
The collaboration addresses sensor limitations and real-time processing challenges, positioning HONOR’s upcoming ROBOT PHONE as the first product to showcase this partnership.
At MWC, HONOR officially announced a strategic technology partnership with ARRI, the legendary brand with over a century of cinematic heritage.

ARRI, a company with a century-long legacy in film technology and 20 Scientific and Technical Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, now partners with HONOR a global AI device ecosystem company—to bridge human device interactions. The ROBOT PHONE will debut these advancements later this year, contrasting ARRI’s film heritage with HONOR’s modern AI ambitions.
