GTA roleplayers are turning virtual cop shops into real-life bureaucracies—complete with paperwork, academy training, and players yelling police codes at criminals in-game.
In Eclipse RP’s 6-step pipeline, aspirants must submit written applications, pass voice interviews, and complete academy training before earning probationary status.
The process mirrors real-world law enforcement, with players reciting police codes and conducting traffic stops in-character.
“I say with a straight face while being the guy who once posed as a lawyer and tried to clear a serial killer of murder,” one player admitted.
This obsession with procedural authenticity extends to robbers screaming expletives at coppers who recite codes they’ve “pulled from a Wiki or Google.” Despite the dedication, one participant noted, “it’s still not quite EVE Online levels of virtual-to-actual-reality blurring.”
