Google’s Fast Pair Bluetooth Flaw Leaves Gaming Headsets Vulnerable to Hacks
Google’s Fast Pair Bluetooth technology, used in popular gaming audio devices, has a critical security flaw that could allow hackers to access microphones or track users’ locations. The vulnerability affects models like the Razer BlackShark V3, Corsair HS55 Stereo, and Steelseries Arctis GameBuds.
Researchers disclosed the issue, classified as CVE-2025-36911, after reporting it to Google in August 2025. A partial fix has been implemented, but users must manually update firmware to apply it. Google confirmed collaboration with researchers but noted the issue remains unresolved in full.
"We reported our findings to Google in August 2025, which classified the issue as critical (CVE-2025-36911)"
"We worked with researchers to fix these vulnerabilities, and we have not seen evidence of any exploitation outside of this report’s lab setting"
Researchers also discovered a bypass for Google’s Find Hub tracking fix, leaving the system’s security in question.
