Forza Horizon 6: Japan’s Neon and Mountains, Your New Playground
Forza Horizon 6 begins in Japan with players arriving by plane to join the Horizon Festival, bypassing traditional career progression. Launching May 19 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, Steam, and Game Pass Ultimate, the PS5 version is delayed to 2026. The game features 550+ cars, including the 2025 GR GT Prototype and 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser as cover cars.
Torben Ellert, the creative lead, described the Collection Journal as
"A collection of your own specific experiences in Japan."
The Akiya-inspired Estate system is tied to Mei’s family property, with Ellert noting
"it’s an old property that belonged to Mei’s family."
Cultural consultants like Kyoko Yamashita ensured Japan’s recreation remains authentic.
New features include The Estate (customizable land), Collection Journal (stamp-collecting mechanics), and Car Meets (Daikoku-inspired social hubs). The 550-car roster and May 19 release date align with the game’s focus on player-driven exploration.
