Edenlux's $680 Eyeary Glasses: Can This Startup Fix Your Screen-Induced Vision Problems?

Edenlux Eyeary glasses with sleek design and adjustable nose bridge for vision correction

Your phone is wrecking your eyes—Edenlux wants to retrain your vision with $680 glasses that double as a muscle trainer.

Edenlux CEO Sungyong Park explains the evolution of their vision correction technology:

"With Otus, users typically took about 12 months to reduce their dependence on reading glasses. Eyeary could shorten that to around six months."

The startup has raised $39 million in Series A (2020) and $60 million in Series B (2022) funding.

Eyeary features 144 diopter focal points—144 times more than the 5-point system in its predecessor Otus—and pairs with a mobile app for AI-driven training.

While Otus generated $10 million in cumulative revenue since its 2022 Asia launch, Eyeary's glasses form factor addresses user complaints about Otus's VR-style bulk.

Edenlux's U.S. subsidiary in Dallas will handle final assembly, with plans to partner with Apple and Samsung for tech integration.

The FDA categorizes these products as wellness devices, not medical equipment. Park added:

"We aim to address the root causes of eye and hearing problems from digital device overuse."
