Dune: Awakening’s Long-Awaited Character Transfer Feature Finally Arrives—But Can You Escape Your Ghost Town?
After 18 months of waiting, Dune: Awakening’s sleepers can finally pack their spice and flee the ghost towns they’ve been stuck in.
Version 1.2.40.0 introduces character transfers between servers, a feature Funcom described as enabling players to move their character, inventory, backed-up bases and vehicles, and bank contents—including Solari—to a new Sietch and World.
Transfers require a weekly-replenishing token, allowing one move per week. Players have cited faction imbalances, friend groups leaving, and server overcrowding as primary motivators. However, private-to-official server transfers are blocked to prevent unfair advantages.
The process takes minutes but mandates using Hagga Basin as a starting location. Base and Vehicle Backup Tools are required to avoid losing progress.
Character name conflicts on destination servers force name changes, adding another layer of complexity.
