Dragon Ball’s Post-Toriyama Power-Up: New Anime, Games, and DLC Announced

Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri 2025 announces new anime, games, and DLC, continuing Akira Toriyama's legacy posthumously.

Dragon Ball characters from Galactic Patrol, Beerus anime, Age 1000 game, and Sparking! Zero DLC

Dragon Ball fans, hold onto your scouter lenses: the future of the franchise just got a major power-up. At Genkidamatsuri 2025, Bandai Namco revealed two new anime series—Galactic Patrol and Beerus—a new game project titled Age 1000, and a "massive" DLC expansion for Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero.

Akio Iyoku, lead producer for Age 1000, said:

"We have spent a long time carefully crafting this project."

Masayuki Hirano, director of Age 1000, added:

"I asked Toriyama sensei to create this character especially for the game."

The Beerus anime will explore the God of Destruction’s hidden layers, according to voice actor Koichi Yamadera:

"You think he (Beerus) is just a weird uncle talking about food... but he’s actually the God of Destruction!"

Projects will launch across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch (DLC delayed for Switch). Age 1000 arrives in 2027, Beerus in Fall 2026, Galactic Patrol in 2027, and Sparking! Zero DLC in summer 2026. All projects leverage Akira Toriyama’s pre-2024 death contributions, continuing his legacy.
