Blizzard Paints a Cheater’s Guide to Mythic+ Dungeons—and Players Are Happy

Blizzard's Lindormi’s Guidance affix highlights enemies in World of Warcraft Mythic+ dungeons, reducing visual clutter for players.

World of Warcraft is slapping a 'yellow paint' cheat code on Mythic+ routing, and you know what? Good.

Blizzard introduced Lindormi’s Guidance as a new Mythic+ affix in the Midnight beta for levels 2-5. The dev statement explains:

"While Lindormi’s Guidance is active, certain non-boss enemies will be afflicted with Temporal Sands, visually highlighting them and reducing their health and damage done by 5%.

Defeating these marked enemies fulfills 100% of the Enemy Forces count, providing a basic route and halting timer reductions from deaths.

The affix aims to reduce routing complexity for new players, not optimize high-level play. The article compares this to "yellow paint" for dungeon navigation—a controversial but practical design choice.

By visually decluttering key targets, Lindormi’s Guidance lowers the barrier to entry while maintaining strategic depth for veterans.
