Asus Axing RTX 5070 Ti: RAMpocalypse's First Casualty?
Asus just pulled the plug on the RTX 5070 Ti—and it’s not coming back. The AIB giant has officially placed the card into end-of-life status due to 'catastrophically low supply', citing: 'This model is currently facing a supply shortage and as such they have placed the model into end-of-life status.'
Retailers confirm no further production of the RTX 5070 Ti, with remaining stock now the final available units. The memory crisis—driven by AI infrastructure demand—has created a VRAM shortage that’s inflating GPU prices.
The RTX 5080 now costs $1,200+ MSRP, while the RTX 5070 Ti’s $800+ price tag makes it a 'smart choice' for manufacturers to deprioritize in favor of higher-margin cards. Both share the same GB203 GPU.
AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs (RX 9070/9070 XT) remain unaffected by EoL concerns and are currently more attainable at their $700+ MSRP. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB is also 'unlikely to see more production' due to memory costs, leaving the RTX 5070 ($540) as the only 'proper' mid-range option in this grindy market.
