AMD’s Mysterious Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Is Already in Workstations—Despite No Official Announcement

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 chip in Sytronix workstation

AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is everywhere but its official keynote—leaked marketing materials and a British workstation builder’s spec sheet reveal how closely the chip is being guarded.

Rahul Tikoo, AMD’s senior vice president, confirmed the chip’s existence but declined to comment further:

"9950X3D2? Yes. I wish I could announce future products today, but I can't, so no comments on that yet."

Speculation suggests the 16-core/32-thread processor features 192 MB of total L3 cache via dual-CCD 3D V-Cache, doubling the 128 MB of the standard 9950X3D. Sytronix, a workstation builder, has already listed the chip in its NexStation lineup paired with the Radeon AI PRO 9700 GPU, citing "improved cache management" as a key benefit.

Leaked data indicates a 200W TDP (up from 170W) and a max boost clock of 5.6 GHz. This contrasts with AMD’s public rollout of the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, which received a full keynote presentation and detailed documentation.
